I spent this past weekend shooting abandonments in the Catskills, New York. The first of two locations we set out for was The Pines. Constructed in the early 1930's, The Pines featured over 96 acres of resort style housing, with accomodations including both indoor and outdoor pools, a golf course, and in the winter, ski chalets and a skating rink. The Pines remained a popular tourist attraction for nearly 70 years before closing it's doors for good in 1998. As you can see here in this connecting hallway, the overall decor of the hotel seems to match that of the 1970s.
